SLES - SCHOOL LEAVER EMPLOYMENT SUPPORTS

Assisting students leaving school with their transition to independent life, career pathways or employment

What is School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES)?

This initiative has been developed to transition students from school to independent life, future pathways and employment. Delivering life and vocational skill development for the opportunity to achieve future life outcomes.

EYA advises participant engagement to begin during their last year of school, ideally from the beginning of term 3. Then we work closely at developing the future pathway goals and processes, ready for it to begin in the upcoming year. To move straight from school to either TAFE, apprenticeship or volunteer position is the ideal pathway. Yet we understand this isn’t always possible and plenty supports can still be offered regardless of the time you commence.

EYA has SLES available across Melbourne and Victoria in a variety of settings from school to office or Zoom to volunteer placement. Participants learn the essential steps required to gain success in their future life/career/employment goals through participation in workshops, tutorials, activities, training sessions, role-play activities, one on one contacts, on-line educations, community contacts, travel training, financial understandings, work/voluntary experience placements and on the job training.

Elevate You Australia, delivers School Leavers Employment Supports, SLES, to children with disabilities and barriers, right across Melbourne and Victoria, with participants traveling from a wide variety of suburbs stretching from North to South and East to West. Our SLES service has a variety of ‘hotspot’  locations in Melbourne and Victoria, where you can be serviced closer to home, if required.

Eligibility – Children in their last year of high school (this is not limited to year 12 as there are many different paths someone may choose to take) who have NDIS funding for SLES. If you would like to find out how your child can receive these funds please call or SMS on 0403445362 or email Laura Bell at laura@elevateyouaustralia.com.au. There is further possibility to utilise other funds while you are waiting for the SLES allocation.
